Vacaciones Sin Mi Bebe

Are we really doing this?
This is too hard.
My heart aches.
I can't do it.
Oh no, here comes the tears.

That's what I was thinking the entire week before we left our baby.
And then it was the night before we left.
I had to tell my son goodnight, put him to bed.
And not see him for the next six days.
It wasn't fun.
It was hard.
Really hard.
But we survived.

We laughed.
And drank tequila.
We danced.
And relaxed in the sun.
We made memories.
And drank more tequila.

I had to pinch myself a couple times to realize we were kidless.
Six whole days in Mexico.
Just the two of us.

It was quiet.
There was time to relax.
We enjoyed being lazy.
 It was so...weird.

Hey friends! How are you? If I didn't make it clear enough, we just returned from a kidless vacation in Mexico! Wha? I know, I can't believe I did it either.

I told you we had big plans for the week.

It's cold in Kansas City, and I'm missing the sunshine.

And the eight other people we had the pleasure of going with.

It was such a great trip. A much needed trip.

Especially for me and this guy.

We had quality time that we haven't had for...oh only 14 months.

I even got a pedicure. Just so I could take this picture.

There were relaxing moments by the pool and lots of fruity cocktails.

We threw down some competitive games of bocce ball and beach volleyball and the girls actually held their own.

We went sailing. It was a first for me.

We tried to go deep sea fishing, but our concierge double booked our trip with another group.

So we drank instead. The bartenders just loved making shots for a group of 10.

The boys were slightly upset about the fishing mistake so they negotiated massages for the ladies.

Such nice guys, right? And hot too.

Some Canadians from Saskatchewan said our husbands were hot. I'll let you decide.

One of the nights, we rocked it out at the resort discotheque, Jaguars. They had a fog machine. It was trashy. It was loud. It was sweaty. It was awesome.

Obviously, fist pumping was our signature move.

Oh Mexico. You were good to me.

Thank you for a wonderful kidless trip.
