Blizzard of Oz

There's only one good thing about a blizzard. And not a cookie dough blizzard from Dairy Queen. We're talking about that crap that's still falling from the sky and causing our dogs to have nervous breakdowns about going to the bathroom.

The only good thing about a Kansas blizzard is that I got to stay home from work today!

Just kidding. There's other enjoyable things about snow, right? I definitely need to be reminded before I pack up and head south.

I still had to do some work from home today, but it sure was nice to cuddle up on the couch in sweat pants with my boys. We did laundry, watched the snow, had a date with the DVR, watched the snow, tried to get Jake up from his nap to go outside, and watched the snow again.

I even organized the large stack of recipes I had sitting on the counter. Tossing ones I knew I would never try, filing ones we loved, and making a pile for ones I need to try.

We accompanied this crazy snow day with a big pot-o-chili. Spicy, savory and not complete without shredded cheese, fritos and cornbread. Mmm...I love cornbread.

Luckily, the hubs and I stopped off at the grocery store on our way home from work yesterday. We carpooled because I hate refuse to drive in this weather. It's just not worth it to me. Risking my life, wrecking my car, and having an anxiety attack is not on my To Do List this week. Maybe next week. Check back and I'll let you know.

So, I really think this snow storm might be the most snow I have ever seen in my life. I can't remember a time I have ever experienced snow drifts this large. It's just crazy.

Someone please tell me why on earth people would choose to not park in their garages? I just don't get it! Who would really want to get up in the morning and shovel their car off when they have an option to cover it! Brian and I just don't get it.

I'm not sure if we will make it into work tomorrow, but the snow has yet to stop. Or maybe it's just the 40 mph winds that are making it look like it's snowing. Welcome to the Blizzard of Oz!

Stay warm everyone! Grab the ones you love (fur babies included) and enjoy a little R+R on the couch!

I seriously can't believe the amount of snow KC is getting! Denver is just cold, real cold. My mom called me this morning and said she couldn't see across the street! I honestly couldn't believe it.
Jealous you got to sort through recipes, cuddle on the couch, and make chili. That sounds like a perfect day:)
P.S. I make my husband drive in bad weather too...
