On the Dot

This weekend was a big deal.

We went to a friend's wedding, spent time with Gammy, and braved the heat to have lunch on the Plaza, but that's not the big part.

We hit a milestone. A big milestone that will bring trouble. Lots of trouble.

Big Boy crawled. Seven months on the dot.

And not just a few inches. He covered some serious carpet chasing a newspaper. He was so determined to get that newspaper.*

If I ever figure out how to get a video off my phone (too big to email), I will share it with you.

Pretty cool seeing my boy grow up.

Brian was at work when he took his first stride. On a Sunday afternoon.

It's been a little rough at the Kutter household lately. Work life interferring with family life. Little moments we are missing out on together.

Brian has been putting in some serious hours, not a day off in two weeks. He sacrificed seeing our little booger for days at a time. And me...reliving the single parenting days.

We met Dad at the Plaza Friday evening, just so he could have 30 minutes with us.

We stopped by the Plaza fountains so big boy could experience one of the finest the City of Fountains offers.

He thought it was pretty cool.

And today? Today, big boy had to get picked up from daycare because of a fever. Well hello nasty cold.

Needless to say, all three of us need a vacation.

Lucky for us, there is light. Three more days and we'll get a break.

I can't wait. A whole week with my babies.

*Gammy brought the newspaper, I haven't read an actual newspaper in...ever. I wonder if he would have crawled without it? It was the only thing he would move for. I guess the KC Star is good for something.

Just wanted to say, I totally feel you! I, too, rock the "single mom" duty a lot of the time, and it breaks my heart that the husband misses so much because of his job. The key for us has been making sure the time we do have together is amazing and really focused on the family. We are also HUGE fans of video chat :) Enjoy your week together!
